Duct Cleaning

Ductwork has been shown to act as a collection source for contaminants that have the potential to affect your health. This includes mold, fungi, bacteria, and dust. Removing these contaminants from the HVAC system is one step you can take to improve your Indoor Air Quality. Research has demonstrated that cleaning your system and eliminating debris from mechanical components may allow your system to run more efficiently.

Cleaning Process

  • We will connect our HEPA AIRE Power Vacuum to the duct system near the furnace to reverse the airflow creating negative air pressure. This ensures that no dust or debris is blown out into the home.
  • All Registers will be removed, vacuumed, cleaned, and sanitized.
  • At pre-determined locations in the duct system, we will cut 12" x 12" access openings to facilitate complete source removal cleaning.
  • The ductwork located inside the walls will be hand contact vacuumed, and we use a power-driven spin brush to dislodge all dirt and debris from the surface of the ducts.
  • Guardian also cleans the essential components of your system, the A-Coil, and the Blower Fan.
  • A-Coil: We will clean the cooling coil using HEPA filtered contact vacuuming while the system is under negative air pressure.
  • Blower Fan: We will remove the blower fan, power wash, sanitize and reinstall.
  • We will vacuum off the filter in the system and inside the fan compartment.
  • Once the duct system has been cleaned, all access openings will be covered with sheet metal, caulked to be air-tight, and secured with sheet metal screws.
  • Upon request, the system may be sanitized using EPA-approved biocide for an additional charge.
